Q: If you complete an undergraduate degree (B.S) with a double major in political science (with international relations emphasis) and spanish with a minor in economics what are the chances of getting a good job? I'm not interested in going to law school. I'm just wondering what opportunities may or may not be there having graduated from a 3rd tier university. What things would be beneficial to improve my prospects in the job market? Thanks.
A: Degrees alone won't get you a job. They are important, but you need much more to go on. You need to seek any and all volunteering and internship opportunities you can with nonprofit organizations and government offices if you want to explore careers and network to get a job some day. Look into human rights organizations, refugee organizations, etc. Also, start thinking about your areas of specialization -- what you want to specialize in.
