Q: I'm trying to encourage my dear husband to get a better job/career. He has a bachelors degree but has gotten comfortable with his valet job. At the age of 36, I don't think he will physically be able to do this much longer. The only profession he is even remotely interested in is stockbroker. I honestly do not know much about this profession except that you have to take the Series 7 which I heard was extremely hard! I have confidence in him, and I will always encourage him to do what he wants, but is there anyone with some advice on this type of career?
A: They did. But with Lehman Brothers going bankrupt and Merryl Lynch being taken over by Bank of America, there are going to be a lot of stock brokers looking for work this coming week. It may be a year before the need for new people in the field becomes apparent.
