Q: I am in the process of working with a company, but in the application it is asking for my assets, liabilities and how much I have in the bank. Obviously the liabilities will show up with the credit report check, but the assets from banks, are they going to tap in and see how much I have in the bank?? Please explain!
A: I doubt that. They can really only see your credit score. Get a free credit report so you'll know what they can see. They will only know the balances of debts not assets. They're only pulling this crappola to be selective. In better economies they don't rely on this. That said know whats in it (your credit report) so when they ask you can be prepared, or you can be up front w/any issues.
